NOTICE TO CONTESTANTS

 

Additional changes may be made to this Local Rule sheet prior to the start of the competition and will be available to all competitors at their starting tee.

 

This competition shall be governed by the current USGA® Rules of Golf. The following Local Rules & Definitions shall also be in effect.  Disregard all Local Rules & Definitions posted in the golf shop or published on the course scorecard. 

 

 

PACE OF PLAY:   SEE PACE OF PLAY ON SCORECARD.  All play should be completed with 4.5 hours.  All groups are expected to make the turn in 2 hours, 15 minutes from their actual start time.   
 

TWO (2) STROKE PENALTY IF MORE THEN 13 MINUTES BEHIND THE GROUP IN FRONT OF YOU.  After 9 holes and again after 18 holes if still behind by more then 13 minutes. This will be strictly enforced!

 

CELL PHONES AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Cell Phones may be used only if doing so does not unduly delay play, cell phones must be on silent always. In the spirit of competition, cell phone usage during competition is discouraged. A player should be respectful of their fellow competitors. The device should only be used to make phone calls in emergency situations. Headphones and earbuds are banned from the competition at all times. A player may obtain distance information by use of a distance measuring device. If during a round, a player uses a distance measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (elevation changes, wind speed etc.) the player is in violation of Rule 4-3.  (penalty Two Strokes. Subsequent offense – Disqualification)

GOLF BALL   The ball the player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the USGA

 

TEEING AREA: Play must be from your designated tee markers, not from the yardage on scorecard. Failure to do so may result in Disqualification   

TIME OF STARTING: Player must be on the tee and ready to play at the designated starting time or be subject to a two (2) stroke penalty or disqualification if more then Five (5) minutes late. (Rule 5.3a)

 

PRACTICE BETWEEN HOLES PROHIBITED:  "Between the play of two holes, a player must not make any practice stroke on or near the putting green of the hole last played and must not test the surface of the putting green last played by rolling a ball. (Penalty for breach of this condition two strokes at the next hole)

 

BALL LOST:   the time for a ball search (before the ball becomes lost) will be 3 minutes.

 

OUT OF BOUNDS: Defined by the inside edges at ground level of boundary walls, split-rail fences, perimeter fence posts, street curbing, roads, parking lot, white stakes and white lines connecting markers.  A ball that crosses a public road defined as out-of-bounds and comes to rest beyond that road is out-of-bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course.   Driving Range area at any event we play will be considered Out of Bounds.
 

BURROWING ANIMAL HOLES:  Relief without penalty in all turfed areas, in non-turfed areas, relief for ball only.
 

WATER HAZARDS:  Defined by stakes and/or lines.  When both stakes and lines are present, lines define the hazard and stakes identify the hazard.  

 

EMBEDDED BALL:  The Embedded Ball Rule 16.3, is in effect thru the green
 

ADVICE: Advice is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke. In addition, any conversation between player/spectator may be construed as advice. This includes any conversation between player/spectator in their native language. In either instance penalty for breach of this rule is two strokes. Players are responsible for the actions of their relatives and spectators in regard to this rule.
 

CADDIES/SPECTATORS:  May not ride in a cart during play of a hole (penalty is disqualification).  Exception:  Caddies/spectators may ride to the starting hole and from the green to the next tee on a space available basis and may sit in cart while it is parked at a tee-box or a green.
