The Golf Channel Am Tour's Las Vegas division continued the 2019-20 season on Saturday at The Legacy Golf Club in Henderson. The field was greeted by sunny skies and a lush golf course to start the season. A variety of winners emerged, from familiar Las Vegas Tour names to newcomers and visitors.
In the Championship flight, 2018-19 Player of the Year Byron Randolph brought a solid game Saturday, and his 74 was good enough for his first win of the season.
At +1 through 13 holes, Chris Mills had designs on challenging for the overall title for most of his round. A slow finish left Mills at 80, but that was plenty good enough to earn a comfortable win, also his first of the season.
Hogan was tight throughout, with the top three spots separated by a single shot. Dave Davidson was the odd man out at 80, narrrowly missing a playoff between Robert Golden and John Kelley at 79. Kelley, a four-time winner last season, was able to put new Hogan promotee Golden away for his first win of the young season.
Kevin Willmore played five events on Tour last season. He earned more Race to Nationals points on Saturday than his entire 2019-19 total, shooting 84 to capture the trophy by a lone shot. After firing 37 on the front nine, Willmore was able to absorb a significant oil leak on the final five holes to edge Leon Calkins. Woody Wallis rounded out the top finishers with 87.
The Jones flight went to reigning Sr. Jones Player of the Year Michael Wood. It was an uncharacteristic performance by Wood, who managed only two pars, but his 97 was enough for the trophy.
In Snead, Froylan Calderon closed strong to earn the win. Playing his final four holes at one over par, Calderon notched his second win early in the 2019-20 campaign.
The Tour would like to thank the staff at The Legacy Golf Club for their hospitality and excellent course conditions, and all those who participated!
